was born in Seville, Spain. and lives in Zurich.

Through painting, I investigate the unstable relationship between perception, memory, identity, and place. Working across abstraction and figuration, my practice explores landscape not as a representation of the natural world, but as a conceptual and psychological space in which visible and invisible realities converge.

Recurring motifs such as water, mountains, trees, horizons, and the human figure operate as shifting metaphors through which broader questions emerge: how meaning is constructed, how memory inhabits space, and how individuals negotiate their relationship with the external world and their inner lives. Landscape becomes less a subject than a framework for examining states of transformation, uncertainty, and becoming.

Central to the work is the notion of reflection—both literal and metaphorical. Reflection functions as a space of transition where distinctions between surface and depth, presence and absence, reality and perception become unstable. Water, in particular, appears as a mutable threshold that simultaneously reveals and conceals, suggesting the fluid nature of experience itself.

The human figure, often intertwined with elements of nature, extends this inquiry into questions of identity and emotional consciousness. Faces dissolve into terrain and landscapes emerge from bodies, collapsing conventional boundaries between self and environment. These hybrid forms evoke inner geographies shaped by memory, vulnerability, resilience, and continual transformation.

Recent works further examine territory as a constructed condition, exploring how space is marked by systems of power, history, belonging, and exclusion. Through layered structures, gestural interventions, and shifting spatial relationships, the paintings propose territory not as a fixed geography but as a site of negotiation between individual and collective experience.

Underlying the practice is an interest in liminal states: moments where oppositions coexist rather than resolve. Visible and invisible, permanence and transience, intimacy and distance, control and freedom remain in continuous dialogue. Painting becomes a space in which these tensions can be held simultaneously, allowing meaning to emerge through ambiguity rather than certainty.

Rather than offering fixed narratives, the work invites sustained looking and contemplative engagement. It proposes painting as a site of encounter—between the external world and the inner landscape, between lived experience and imagination, and between what can be seen and what remains beyond articulation.
