WATER REFLECTION SERIES

On the central point of Alejandra Patricia´s work stays an intuitive strength, that is transmitted not only through the bright colours and shapes, but also through the structure creating abstract landscapes, where micro universes are formed in a reciprocal dialogue with the use of different materials like pigments, gesso, etc. that she uses in combination with basically acrylic. She loves to represent the deconstructed image that she has in mind to construct, to embrace a new one through the texture. This helps her with the use of different colours to light up a continuous movement, rhythm, that goes beyond what is realistic. It is a language that has its own rules, that tries to go further away the painting, and embodies her wish to fully be herself, to be present in the world. ‘I am the enhancer’ she says ‘of what is going on’.

‘Water Reflection series’ works are mostly abstract landscapes of water and its reflection that has become for Alejandra Patricia an obsession, and she explores this concept as a metaphor. She lives in front of a lake surrounded by mountains, and close to the woods, this environment, and Nature in general are her main source of inspiration. She likes observing in detail the changes of light that bring different colours to the innumerable sceneries. These landscapes continue changing due to the different light, or season, as also does the state of our life that is nothing more than a reflection of our mind. 

Water as essential element that flows, moves, changes with different external elements as the wind. Change, that we human beings also constantly undergo. Water used as a mirror that represents the world which turns its reflections. She is always intrigued about the concept of what is ‘deep’ or ‘underneath’ represented ‘under the ‘water’ and what is on the ‘surface’, and she symbolises and plays with multiple colours at the same time to construct this idea. What is in your mind and what is that you really verbalise, or express towards outside. 

Sometimes the water is deeper than what it reflects. Sometimes the human heart is like the reflections on the water´s surface. We say things opposite to what the heart really feels, therefore Alejandra Patricia allows herself to experiment with ’on' and 'under' the surface, with 'close' and 'far away', with 'surface' and 'deepness’, with ‘truth’, ‘real’ vs. ‘lie’, and she borrows these metaphors and symbolism from literature to convey the dichotomy inherent to every idea. 

She would like to call on the Nature, that we take it for granted, but that we all should take care of. The positive energy that gives us when observing and living it, we should use it to keep it save.She tries to put emphasis in the beauty of Nature to bring attention to the idea that we should take care of it.
